The Lions and Lionesses are thrilled to announce they have accepted an invitation to attend the 2022 Rugby World 7s to be held in Grenada this December.
Being held at the state of the art 20,000 capacity Grenada Cricket Stadium, the event's elite competition will play host to teams from across the world.
The Lions will be playing for a $2,500 prize pot, whilst the Lionesses will be playing for a $5,000 prize pot - with all the action being streamed so supporters back home and around the globe can check in.
Speaking to club non-executive director Bobby Watkins, he shared these thoughts about the upcoming event "We are delighted to attend Rugby World 7s, it provides the perfect combination of an elite competition for both our Lions and Lionesses sides, within the beautiful island of Grenada, a perfect reward for the team for a brilliant season."
Senior Lionesse Nicole Kwee added her thoughts on the club's inclusion in this event stating "Experience my first Caribbean 7s tournament in 15 years, looking forward to a mixture of playing elite 7s and learning about the Caribbean culture"
